I’ve been curious about what happens in the garden when the sun goes down, so I decided to see for myself. In this video, I explore the garden at night—something I never do. From floating fireflies to swarming moths, and even catching a blurry coyote on the trail camera (did not expect that!)—it’s a side of the garden I rarely get to see.
I set up a few different ways to capture the nighttime magic: filming fireflies, using trail cameras, light sheeting for moths, and walking around with red and infrared lights to spot whatever’s lurking. It was a pretty eye-opening experience, and I thought I’d share it with you.
I also talk about how you can help create a space for fireflies and moths, and why they’re such important creatures in the garden.
