For years, I watched many game showcases as a fan; sat back, snacks in hand, soaking up the hype. Then I began co-streaming them with the amazing VR community over on Without Parole, reacting live in real time.
Fast forward to March this year, and I found myself helping coordinate the social media operations around the VR Games Showcase for Impact Reality & Flat2VR Studios.
This month, things levelled up again: I was leading content coordination for Flat2VR Studios, working with our brilliant team to produce announcement trailers, behind-the-scenes showcases, and social media prep… all the way up to the final submission.
The VR Games Showcase was yesterday, and to be honest, I still haven’t fully processed everything. So today felt like a good opportunity to share what it’s like to be on the other side of the showcase screen. From the build-up to the launch, the nerves, pressure, and surreal privilege of contributing to an industry you used to just sit back and enjoy from the sidelines. Plus, I’ll be answering questions and chatting with you live.
