Our Spiritual Formation Director, Blake Zimmerman, begins week one of our new teaching series, Summer in the Psalms.
Scripture isn’t just something to read quickly or understand intellectually—it’s something to slow down with, chew on, and let shape the deepest parts of us. What we feed our souls will form our lives. When we meditate on the counsel of the world, we become anxious, restless, and unanchored. But when we learn to meditate on God’s Word, we become like trees planted by streams of water—rooted in Him, fruitful in season, and sustained by the life only He can give.
In this message, Pastor Blake explores the following Scriptures:
Psalm 1: 1-6 ESV
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Ephesians 5:18-19 ESV
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,
Jeremiah 3:15 ESV
15 “‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Jeremiah 15:16 ESV
16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.
Ezekiel 3:1-3 ESV
1 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me this scroll to eat. 3 And he said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.
Matthew 4:3-4 ESV
3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
1 Peter 2:2-3 ESV
2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

About Church on the Move:
We are a family of churches in northeast Oklahoma. Our mission is to introduce people to the real Jesus. A lot of people know about Jesus but have yet to experience the life-changing power of His grace and truth. Knowing Jesus has transformed our lives, so our goal for each of our worship services, from our kids’ environments on up, is to help people know that same love.
We actively pursue Jesus in everything we do and we believe He’s given us a vision for a church that is deeply centered on Him and His word.

![What Kind of Life Are You Building?
Our Lead Pastor, Whit George, begins week one of our new teaching series, The Life of Abraham.
Following God starts with a decision, but it unfolds one step at a time. When God called Abraham, it wasn’t just a new direction, it was a completely different way of living: a shift from “I will” to “Thy will.” The world invites us to build something for ourselves, to make a name and take control, but the way of Jesus begins with surrender. Trusting God with what you can’t see, taking the next step even without the full picture, and letting Him do what only He can do. Abraham didn’t know where he was going, but he knew who he was following, and that was enough.
In this message, Pastor Whit explores the following Scriptures:
Genesis 12:1-3 ESV
1 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your fathers house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
GENESIS 11:1-4 ESV
1 Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. 2 And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
GENESIS10:8-10 ESV
8 Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man.[a] 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
GENESIS 11:5 ESV
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built.
ISAIAH 14:4 ESV
4 ... take up this taunt against the king of Babylon:
ISAIAH 14:13-14 ESV
13 You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north;[c] 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’
HEBREWS 11:8-10 ESV
8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.
ACTS 7:2-3 ESV
2 And Stephen said: “Brothers and fathers, hear me. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran, 3 and said to him, ‘Go out from your land and from your kindred and go into the land that I will show you.’ 4 Then he went out from the land of the Chaldeans and lived in Haran. And after his father died, God removed him from there into this land in which you are now living.
1 PETER 5:6 ESV
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
1 PETER 5:5 ESV
5 Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
