Check out the new Rugged Signal Element (RSE) Antenna Line from vfcomms.com and watch as I solder a connector onto this Nickel-coated Carbon Fibre wire.
Get it in Canada at gpscentral.ca/product/vfcomms-rugged-signal-element
Everywhere else at vfcomms.com vfcomms.com/shop/antenna/rse-line/?v=5435c69ed3bc
Modelling characteristics cited from EZNEC:
40m Inverted Vee Dipole
Using #Normally12 copper, it has a skyward lobe of about 5.67 dBi
Using RSE as the material, the lobe is about 3.81 dBi, differential of -1.86dB
40m EFHW sloper with feedpoint at 33 ft then down to the ground:
Using #12AWG Copper: lobe is about 1.07 dBi
Using RSE: lobe is about -0.21 dBi, differential of -1.28 dB
So the DC resistance of this wire isn't a significant factor, but your mileage may vary. I'll happily use this in the field for its convenience.
