What if one of the strongest pieces of evidence for the Book of Mormon has been sitting in plain sight the entire time, … and most Latter-day Saints simply never noticed it? threy read right past it, giving it no thought. Most members know that Lehi discovered through the Plates of Brass that he was descended from Joseph of Egypt, through Manasseh. But what if that detail means far more than we realized?
Ancient Israel was not always one unified religious system. After the kingdom divided, the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah followed different historical and theological trajectories. One tradition survived, shaped the biblical record, and became the dominant voice we now recognize as Judaism, which ultimately gave way to Christianity. The other was scattered, largely lost to history, and rarely considered when comparing the Book of Mormon to the Bible.
This video explores whether the Book of Mormon preserves elements of that forgotten northern Israelite tradition. In this video we'll explore the following:
