In the modern world, we are incentivized to stay busy, or at least to appear so. In measuring life by outputs alone, we lose touch with the receptive dimension of our deepest experiences. From great works of art and intellect to our most vulnerable encounters with love and surrender, human beings are recipients of something that exceeds themselves.
