Welcome back. I often hear that if you plan your trip, it is not an adventure anymore. Well..in the best scenario, the trip will finish after your petrol is finished. To know where the next petrol station is is already a plan. Anyway, traveling without any plans is possible, but only on a local base.
For anything else, you will need serious preparation. This is my opinion and I will never change it. To all guys who want to travel without any plans, the only thing that I can say right now is good luck! On the other hand, if you over-plan, yes, that might kill the spirit or the adventure part of the trip.
What works for me and I am sure that it will work for you as well, is to have a basic plan. A plan that could be extended, shortened, or changed if necessary. Let me explain to you what exactly I mean.
First I need to find the desired destination. Btw, let me tell you how I pick the destinations. I think that this might be useful to many of you, or at least to give you some food for thought.
Now I am 50 years old, when I started traveling I was around 35. So far, I have been able to do some of the longest motorcycle travel destinations, like Mongolia, Central Asia, Magadan. And South America last year.
