Okay, but…what is paint, really? 🥸

Breaking it down into the simplest terms: pigments ✚ binder ✚ vehicle = 🎨

Right? Well…😛

The truth is, from the very start artists have thrived on trying new things and mixing materials in novel ways. Just think of all the materials that are used *like* paint—but called something else!

Still, definitions are vital for preserving historic traditions and techniques. Especially in paintmaking, a craft that connects modern artists to the working studios of artists who, long gone, live on through their timeless works 🌟

Thoughts? Opinions? We wanna hear ‘em! ⬇️ Tell us in the comments.
