Allsop's book, What is Journalism For? examines the history of journalism in modern society and examines the purpose that journalism attempts to accomplish today. He explores the relationship between journalism and democracy, journalism and misinformation, and journalism and society. The discussion is moderated by Bill McCarren, Director of the Press Freedom Center and former Executive Director of the National Press Club.
