IAM stands for Identity and Access Management and provides control over user validation and resource access.
IAM ensures that the right people access the right digital resources at the right time and for the right reasons.
The core of IAM is identity. Someone wants access to your resource. It could be a customer, employee, and so on. In IAM, a user account is a digital identity.
IAM concerns both verifying users' identity (that’s authentication) and granting them access to data based on that identity (that’s authorization).
