Today I’m installing LP board-and-batten style siding on the cabin that’s shaped and designed like a BOAT. This project has been a long time coming, and the siding finally brings the whole theme together. I walk through the full process — layout, fastening, spacing, trim details, and the tricks I used to make everything line up clean on a structure that’s anything but standard.
I show how I cut and installed the LP SmartSide panels, added the battens for that classic board-and-batten look, worked around the “boat bow” lines of the cabin, and sealed everything up for a long-lasting finish. If you’re building a cabin, doing board & batten siding, or just following the journey of this boat-inspired getaway, this one has some good tips and a whole lot of progress.
