I have been a ham radio operator for 58 years. Many times I have been asked: What is ham radio? To answer that question, I asked several friends to record their view of ham radio and send it to me for a YouTube video. So, here are their responses.

$Jim W6LG Elmer in Hospital a Few Days Ago Leukemia, Congestive Heart Failure, Severe Osteoporosis Jim W6LG ham radio Elmer suffered a compression fracture of his spine along with congestive heart failure. He was kept in the Emergency Department for two days and then a private room for one day at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville. One thing that happened was amazing. The Fire Captain who responded with his crew was an amateur radio operator and was very kind to Jim. That Capstan was KG6CYA, Sean. Sean and others helped Jim onto gurney and into the ambulance. Sean closed the doors to the ambulance wishing Jim well. It was very kind of Sean, KG6CYA. Jim has since this video been released to home. Jim not able to go on the air for a few more days. Jim wants you to know he is doing fine. The fracture is very painful. It appears that due to the bone density a surgical repair is not possible and strong painkillers are necessary.
