James Gunn's new DCU seems to be gaining significant traction with the newly released teaser trailer for Superman, the first theatrical Superman movie since Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder and set in the DCEU. Creature Commandos has established the living, breathing world that is the DCU, teasing the appearances of future characters like Starfire and the Teen Titans, Damian Wayne’s Robin, Wonder Woman, Batman, Supergirl, and Peacemaker—just to name some of the more notable figures in this new universe. Waly West Flash has been teased as a background character in the future vision by Circe. DC Studios has a planned slate of shows and movies even outside the DCU, such as Matt Reeves' The Batman and the upcoming Clayface horror movie. The new Superman film appears to be taking the character back to his roots, incorporating the classic Daily Planet cast like Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, while also introducing Superman's most notable villain, Lex Luthor. It's possible that other heroes who appear in the film, such as Green Lantern, could be used to tease a potential Justice League-like team.
