I've been in New York for more than a month now and as much as I've loved it here one thing I haven't been able to sort out is eating a healthy and affordable diet in one of the world's most expensive and unhealthy cities. Whole foods cost a fortune, almost anything processed contains sugar (and sometimes even ingredients that are banned in Europe) and EVERYTHING is wrapped in plastic. Eating low waste is out of the question for the moment but creating a healthy and balanced meal plan in New York has been a challenge! In today's vlog I attempt to do just that, I try making meals at home, go grocery shopping and looking for affordable supermarkets, balancing work and health and I go down a research rabbit hole on the US food ingredients and additives that are banned in Europe and discover some in my own pantry.
