Driving Point Impedance:
The driving point is the two terminals of the network, across which the energy source is connected. The impedance seen through this driving point is known as the driving point impedance. Basically, it is the input impedance of the network seen through the specific port.
Transfer Function:
The driving point impedance relates the voltage and current of the same port, while the Transfer function relates the voltage or current of the two different ports. The Transfer Function relates the voltage or current of the output port with the voltage and current of the input port.
On both the input and output side, since there are two variables (voltage and current), so there are total 4 different types of Transfer functions.
1) Voltage Transfer Function (Vo/ Vi)
2) Current Transfer Function (Io / Ii)
3) Transfer Impedance (Vo / Ii)
3) Transfer Admittance (Io / Vi)
In this video, through different solved examples, how to find the Driving Point Impedance and Transfer Function of the network is explained.
This video will be helpful to all the students of science and engineering in understanding what is Driving Point Impedance, and what the Transfer Function of the Electrical Network?
