CANbus is a system that helps all of the electronics and sensors flow data in real time back to the ECU, replacing a point to point wiring system. This is more reliable and provides more immediate data feedback.
One of the drawbacks is that without a CANbus controller, it can throw codes when installing universal electronics which do not mimic the OEM products.
