Yesterday, we chose the model.
Now we connect to it.

An API is how your app sends a prompt and gets text back.

Your laptop isn’t running GPT-5.
It sends a request to a server that is.

APIs abstract away the complexity.
But they also introduce cost, latency, and limits.
