Antique Agate marbles identifications, descriptions and discussions with the Richie “The Slagmaster” Stremme from the Pocono Underground.
In this video Richie explains natural facets on agates and gemstones and shows examples of man-made faceting on marbles and agate spheres.
He shows us how to determine the ages on agate marbles based on the faceting work. We look at antique German 1800’s agate marbles and compare them to newer polished contemporary mineral spheres and marbles.
We discuss the influence that the old German agates had on the later machine-made glass marble companies. Some of the more collectable antique models such as dyed agates and crystalline bullseye agates are shown in detail.
We walk through the general prices and values of the old German agates and a few of the more modern marbles and spheres.
