In this guitar lesson for beginners I show what is a guitar capo, what is it for and how to use a capo.
For example, if some song is low for your voice – just put the guitar capo (capodastro) on the first fret and play the song the same way, but starting from second fret. All chords will be higher. So, E chord transforms into F (but without barre), A chord transforms to A#, etc. Capo (Capo Tasto) is like a guitar nut that can be placed anywhere on a fretboard.
Also capo is very useful when you have to play a melody with open strings in higher key.
And just in case – you can place your capo on any fret you need.
