In this video I talk about film swapping- what it is, how to do it, and why it’s possibly the most fun you can have shooting film with someone else.

How to film swap:
Find a friend and get them to agree to shoot a roll of film with you. Bribing people is always an option. Cake works well.
The first person to shoot the roll should load the film into their camera and mark where the shutter window is. (This will make it easier to line up in for the second person).
The first person should reduce the iso by one stop (for example on a roll of 400 speed film, shoot the roll at 800 iso)
After finishing the roll, the first person will rewind the film (but not all the way!). Leave the leader out just a little bit to allow the second person to load it into their camera.
The first person sends the roll to the second person.
The second person loads the film lining up the marked out shutter to the window location in their camera. They also reduce their iso 1 stop less.
After the second person finishes shooting the roll, they develop or send it off to the lab.
BAM! Film swap complete. Now compliment said friend on their photography prowess.
