A Discoverable Credential is a FIDO2/WebAuthn credential that can be well… discovered by the relying party, or the server you’re trying to authenticate to, without the user providing their ID in the request to the authenticator.
So when you are trying to authenticate using a discoverable credential, you don’t even need to provide let’s say your username because the browser can find which credentials you have for a given website.
