EP3: "What If... the Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier?" The episode opens with grainy security footage from December 16, 1991—the night Howard and Maria Stark were assassinated by the Winter Soldier. However, the Red Guardian intervenes. Tasked by General Dreykov to go undercover in Ohio, Alexei Shostakov resists, suspecting a deeper conspiracy involving the mysterious "Rook." Amid covert operations, Alexei and Bucky’s paths collide. As Bucky attempts to kill the Starks, Red Guardian thwarts the mission, forcing both to flee. They end up in Las Vegas, seeking Rook, who turns out to be Obadiah Stane. Stane’s betrayal reveals his ambition to claim Stark Industries. The episode concludes with a high-stakes showdown involving Alexei, Bucky, and Dreykov's forces. Ultimately, Alexei sacrifices the last dose of the super-soldier serum and adopts a new identity as a gym teacher.
EP4: "What If... Howard the Duck Got Hitched?" Set in a whimsical reality, this episode follows Howard and Darcy Lewis as they welcome their child—a literal egg. The story traces back to their romance from *What If...?* Season 1. Invited by the Grandmaster on a cruise, their child becomes the target of numerous factions, including Yondu and Kaecilius, who plan to use it as a vessel for Dormammu. The chaotic adventure spans cosmic realms, with references to *Thor: The Dark World*, *Doctor Strange*, and *Guardians of the Galaxy*. Howard and Darcy team up with S.H.I.E.L.D. to rescue their child. A climactic battle ensues on Knowhere, ending with the egg being safely retrieved, leaving viewers with a heartwarming yet bizarre twist on parenthood.
