Today marks a full year since I lost my baby to kidney failure. There are still times when I miss him terribly but I've been able to talk about him and reminces over things he did in the past without crying my eyes out. The personality changes I've seen in his brother since my baby's death have helped both of us adjust to his death:
He used to demand cuddles and now his brother does.
He used to wake up every morning and now his brother does.
He used to cry whenever I left the house and now his brother does.
He used to smother my face with his fur and now his brother -does- tries...
