Do you get offended if someone doesn't like you? Or can you like someone even if they hate you? Learning to love people who hate you is one of the most difficult realizations any spiritual aspirant can attain. The challenge of truly embracing unconditional love is that it is often just lip service rather than an actual felt experience and realization. This type of psychological posturing and lip service stems from people who are not truly invested in spirituality, and, as a result, they don't have what it takes to understand that oneness is the true reality. The sages, on the other hand, are imploring us to go further so that we can have that real sense of unity felt within our hearts.
