Hi everyone! 😊 How are you on this fine day? Phew, that was a long one! I first had this idea over a month and a half ago... it slowly turned into a hugely time-consuming process, but at last I can say “I hope you enjoy!”
I don’t know who remembers my claim of the “mess” I could make with a green screen... in truth, my excitement at finally getting one (albeit a small one) didn’t prepare me for the huge learning curve ahead of me 😂
I wrote the script for this video first, which took several days to fine-tune, then spent about 3 days making the “intro cards” for each group... at this point I was already a little surprised at how much work I was putting into a video that may or may not ever be finished-
Then, the day arrived; the green screen was delivered! Before struggling with THAT for a week, I filmed the first portion of this video, where you see me in front of my cherry-blossom screen, reading as if I’m some kind of K-Pop therapist LOL
That only took an afternoon 😋 but as I kept putting more and more hours into this idea, my Gemini tendencies started getting the better of me and I realized I might as well go all out...
Many thanks to my BFF (ya’ll know who) for hanging out w/ me in the thrift store while I found clothes that matched “NCT, SuperM, EXO, etc.”
(Note: most of the outfits seen in this video are my own... I thrifted a few choice items, guess which!)
Anyway, yes. I did that. It took four-ish days to finish filming all the different “characters” and the reason for that is simple. My routine was this; outfit, make-up, hair, jewelry, sit in front of a green screen and read/act from the script, repeat 20 times. I kid you not, this was quite a work out~
And I was still hoping the green screen itself would work how I wanted it to...
Editing took a week, and it was pretty natural to break it down into each group, creating the minute or so of content as if I were making several mini-videos.
Learning a new skill is hard, and I definitely fought with my computer a few times while discovering how to get the green screen program to work
🤔 definitely a case of trial and error, but I think for a first try it came out pretty good! It was awkward, trying to figure out how to align people’s faces in the background behind MY face, but I will keep practicing and maybe next time I can show you guys something better 🙏🏻❤️
*deep sigh* well after all that! I’m honestly really glad I did this even though it took several years off my life 😂 I felt excited every day I woke up and got to work on this project, and I think this is a good lesson to my future self, and maybe even something Y’ALL could stand to hear... simply that; if you really believe in an idea you have, don’t give up! Persevere, and remember why you loved the idea in the first place when things get hard! I think you will surprise yourself with what you can accomplish, and learn along the way 😊
