Every year NASA hosts close to 2,000 interns. While working together with experts, these interns provide important contributions to NASA’s missions. Meet five interns on the James Webb Space Telescope team and hear about their work and experiences this summer. In this Webb image, we can get lost in the Cosmic Cliffs - a star-forming region that looks like craggy cliffs on a moonlit evening. Webbs extreme sensitivity to infrared light has revealed many new details.

Far and Wide: Roman and Webbs Overlapping Roles in Understanding Our Universe, Part 2: Surveying the Universe

The James Webb and Nancy Grace Roman space telescopes are NASA’s latest flagship astrophysics observatories. One is in space already and the other will join it there soon. These two telescopes look very different, have different objectives, and together will advance our understanding of the universe. This four-part video series explores the differences and synergies of Roman and Webb.
The Webb and Roman telescopes will both help us answer questions about the fundamental nature of the universe. Webb’s deep gaze will see the earliest galaxies and help astronomers learn more about the young cosmos. It will let researchers study individual galaxies in great detail.
Roman’s unique combination of incredible detail and broad coverage will enable it to survey large swaths of sky, revealing millions of never-before-seen galaxies. Astronomers will study them as populations and to see the hidden large-scale structure of the universe, revealing new insight into the mysteries of dark energy and dark matter.

Trillions of stars beaming far,
The universe breathes pristine air ,
Nebulae shields the heavens breath,
To thousands light years away where secrets stay.
The Big Bang nurtures the first gallon of fluid,
Turns it into series of beauty,
The goddess of beauty we live in,
Maps of dark matter and energy awaiting to be seen.
Old man Hubble has the the glory,
Charted on the milestone gleaming,
The successor Webb has now ready,
To be the heir of this obligated journey.
Stars, planets, humans, ants,
We all are made of the same universe grains,
The symbol of evolution James Webb,
We ride to explore another blue light,
In the name of revolution that births a fruit bright,
We venture into stardust on another flight.
