Yes, this is the famous London Bridge which now resides in Lake Havasu, Arizona. This bridge replaced the “Old London Bridge” which spanned the River Thames in London, England, for over 600 years. Because it was always needing repairs, the nursery rhyme London Bridge is falling down, came into fruition.
It was decided that a different bridge was needed, so in 1831 construction was completed and the “new” London Bridge replaced the old one which was then demolished.
Due to the increase in modern traffic, the “new” bridge started to sink under the weight, so it was auctioned off and Robert P McCulloch, founder of Lake Havasu City, purchased it. It was then dismantled brick by brick and shipped through the Panama Canal to Long Beach, California before being trucked and reassembled here.
