Brut had been on the ground covering the protest happening at Jantar Mantar from Day 1 and we decided to return again. Days after the protest against NEET paper leak was called off after the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, we went back on 4 August 2026 to see what had changed.
The heavy security was gone. The barricades had disappeared. The place looked quieter than it had during the weeks of demonstrations. But what we found surprised us. Another protest had quietly taken its place, this time, a fight against manual scavenging. After our visit, one thing became clear that Jantar Mantar never truly falls silent. When one movement packs up its banners, another arrives carrying the weight of a different injustice.
