Sonic The Comic issue #6 gives us an interesting dynamic of what happened after the events of the video game Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on the MegaDrive (Genesis). Despite the explosion caused after Sonic and Robotniks battle at the end of Sonic 2, it turns out though heavily damaged, the Death Egg is still in orbit and on a collision cause to the Emerald Hill Zone. Sonic and Tails make a second trip to the Wing Fortress Zone to stop the Death Egg to this time for good!
