Hey! In this video, I explain what it feels like to be fluent in a foreign language-- what if feels like emotionally and physically. This video is based on my personal experience, and I'm sure you have a lot to add to the conversation, so please share your ideas in the comments!
I made this video for several reasons...
First, because so many students are already fluent and they just don't realize it! It's so empowering when you realize you are fluent in a foreign language, so I hope this video helps some of you get lots of confidence.
Second, I've never seen a video like this before, so I thought sharing my experience would be helpful. The truth is... fluency really does feel incredible when you first experience it. And if someone HASN'T experienced it, they can't tell you what it feels like. I enjoy exploring these aspects of language learning that not many people talk about... I find it fascinating.
Finally, I made this video to remind people that speaking fluently doesn't mean NEVER making mistakes. Sometimes, as language learners, we get so discouraged by our mistakes and that's all we focus on. Remember, we use languages to communicate. Don't be so hard on yourself. Enjoy the journey of learning and have FUN using what you already know.

1. I was born in California, USA
2. I went to study abroad in Argentina in 2013
3. I met my husband Renzo in Argentina
4. We got married 5 months after we met!
5. We lived about 5 years in Argentina then started traveling
6. I started English Full:Time in 2016
7. Ren & I now live in California and have two amazing kids
8. We travel as much as we can (especially to Argentina!)
9. I speak Spanish fluently
10. I drink "mate" 🧉 every day!
