We joined foreign recruits of the 1st International Rifle Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade during their final training before earning their patches. Americans, Britons, Germans, French, and others are preparing for a war dominated by drones, mines, and constant surveillance.

Some came for ideology. Some for religion. Some because they believe Ukraine’s war is worth making their own.

This is what happens before they are sent to the front.
