Even in the final months of her life, Dolly Parton continued working that 9 to 5, remaining upbeat about her overall well-being. Though the country music legend was notoriously private about her personal life, it wasn't all takin' and no givin' when it came to discussing her health, the icon sharing a series of updates prior to her recent death at the age of 80. In September 2025, the “Jolene” singer revealed that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency after medical professionals recommended certain procedures that she quipped were part of her “100,000-mile checkup.” That same month, Parton missed an event at her theme park Dollywood while she recovered from an infection that occurred as a result of kidney stones. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has also detailed her struggles with her mental health. Shortly after her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, passed away, Parton made an appearance on Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, where she revealed how dealing with his death had affected her creative process.
