In this episode of the Curt Landry Podcast, Rabbi Curt is joined by Pastor Michael to break down the much-debated topic of women in ministry leadership roles, what the Bible teaches, and why out-of-context scriptures have caused centuries of confusion and misunderstanding.
When we look at the significant and strategic roles women play throughout the Bible, from Deborah to Esther to Mary Magdalene, we see God’s heart for women to have an equal part in building God’s Kingdom through their voice and leadership. Acts 2:17-18 declares that both sons and daughters will prophesy, which involves edifying, teaching, and declaring God’s truths. 1 Timothy 2:12 and 1 Corinthians 14 address specific local issues regarding order in worship services with new converts, and are not reflective of a universal protocol for all time.
The Holy Spirit can move and speak just as powerfully through a woman as through a man, and the Body of Messiah is stronger when men and women partner together in humility under God’s authority.
