I happen to think that language matters, that our choice of labels for things matter a great deal, and that our language has more power in our worlds than most people are aware of. What we choose to call something helps shape the way we think about it and how we handle it. Naming parts of the Bible is no exception. In fact, I happen to think it matters even more with names for the collections of texts that people hold as sacred than for other parts of our lives, since people often use sacred collections to define their worlds in some way.
Consider this a #thoughtexperiment - what if you start to call parts of the Bible by the names for them created by Jewish communities, for instance? Does that change the way you think of them and their importance?
