On August 26, 2011, Amanda Plasse, a vibrant and kind-hearted young woman, was found brutally murdered in her Chicopee, Massachusetts apartment. The violent crime stunned the community—but what followed deepened the family’s grief. Two police officers took unauthorised photos of Amanda’s body at the crime scene and shared them from their personal phones, compounding the trauma. The case remained unsolved for years, frustrating her loved ones—until persistent investigation led to the arrest and conviction of Dennis Rosa-Roman. But Amanda’s story didn’t end with justice in court. Her mother, Michelle Penna, took her pain and turned it into purpose, fighting for legislation to protect future victims. In 2022, “Amanda’s Law” passed, preventing first responders from sharing unauthorised crime
scene images. Amanda’s legacy lives on in justice—and in the law her mother helped make. Her killer was Finally Caught.
