Showing you what a bad worn out water pump looks and sounds like. Rumbling loose bearings, loose spinning shaft noise. It started with a squeaking sound coming from the engine compartment, I ignored the sound for two weeks then the noise graduated to a rumbling rattling metal grinding sound. Then coolant started to leak out of the water pump's spinning shaft and weep hole. I ordered a new water pump on ebay for 40 bucks and replaced it myself. My car is a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria, same exact 4.6L V8 engine as Mercury Grand Marquis. I'm pretty sure water pumps on other cars models fails similarly so this video can apply to other car manufacturers and model.
