Hello, young friends! Today, we're going on an exciting journey to learn about the Chinese New Year animals. The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a special time filled with fun, fireworks, and amazing stories. One of these stories is about twelve incredible animals that make up the Chinese zodiac.

The Chinese zodiac is like a special calendar, but instead of months, it has animals for each year. There are twelve animals in total, and each animal has its year. People born in a specific animal's year are said to have some of the qualities of that animal. Let's meet these animals!

Rat: The Rat is clever and quick-thinking. People born in the Year of the Rat are thought to be smart and resourceful.

Ox: The Ox is strong and reliable. If you're born in the Year of the Ox, you might be hardworking and determined.

Tiger: Tigers are brave and confident. Those born in the Year of the Tiger are believed to be adventurous and courageous.

Rabbit: Rabbits are gentle and kind. If your year is the Rabbit, you might be friendly and caring.

Dragon: The Dragon is powerful and lucky. People born in the Year of the Dragon are thought to be energetic and enthusiastic.

Snake: Snakes are wise and mysterious. If you're a Snake year person, you might be intelligent and a deep thinker.

Horse: Horses are free-spirited and energetic. Those born in the Year of the Horse are believed to be outgoing and cheerful.

Goat (or Sheep): Goats are calm and creative. If you're born in the Year of the Goat, you might be artistic and peaceful.

Monkey: Monkeys are clever and playful. People born in the Monkey year are often fun and full of energy.

Rooster: Roosters are hardworking and confident. If you're a Rooster, you might be independent and punctual.

Dog: Dogs are loyal and honest. Those born in the Year of the Dog are believed to be faithful and trustworthy.

Pig: Pigs are generous and good-natured. If your year is the Pig, you might be kind-hearted and cheerful.

Every twelve years, the cycle starts again with the Rat. The animal for the year is celebrated during Chinese New Year with decorations, parades, and lots of yummy food. People wear clothes with their animal, give red envelopes for good luck, and enjoy being with family.

These animals are not just part of a calendar; they are a big part of Chinese culture and bring stories and fun to the New Year celebrations. Next time the Chinese New Year comes around, see if you can find out which animal it is and what special qualities it brings.

So, which Chinese zodiac animal are you? Are you brave like a Tiger, clever like a Rat, or kind like a Rabbit? Each animal has its wonderful qualities, and it's fun to learn about them and celebrate the rich and colourful traditions of the Chinese New Year.

Happy exploring, little adventurers!
