One of the core components of the world wide web is the HTTP protocol. Let’s take a quick look at the most common types of HTTP requests—different requests that web clients (typically a browser) can make of a web server. While the HTTP protocol defines a whole host of different request types, including HEAD, PUT, DELETE, and OPTIONS, there are only two that you really need to know: GET and POST.
