What Are Comets?
Do you know that Halley's Comet is visible from Earth every 76 years?
Comets travel around the Sun in long loops. Clouds of dust called comas surround the Comets, which are said to be up to a million kilometres across.
Whenever the comets approach the Sun, more of gas and dust evaporate from their centres, which in turn makes the comas grow larger and the comets form tails.
Therefore comets' tails always point away from the Sun.
