Breakfast is scientifically most commonly defined as your first meal of the day, eaten within 2 hours of waking, and containing at least 20% of your daily calories. Note: it is not defined as any specific type of food!
And interestingly, the benefits of breakfast occur no matter what you eat, thanks to breakfast being an important regulator of circadian rhythm and HPA axis activation.
