What the difference is between an autistic person having a hobby and a special interest. But also discussing how autistic obsessions can also be linked to our special interests.

Now Special interests & autism is something I have been wanting to discuss for a long term as this is a massive part of being on the autism spectrum. The idea of wanting to know everything about a specific topic or the need to collect things can appear to be weird and obsessive. But for autistic people like myself, autism special interests are an important part of our wellbeing. This is because they provide a sense of stability in a world filled with uncertainty.
