The Karate Kid franchise is one of my absolute favorites of all time and with the latest film in the series Karate Kid: Legends recently coming out as well as the Cobra Kai series coming to an end earlier this year, I was really feeling nostalgic to look back at the franchise. Despite having some cheesy film entries and Cobra Kai brilliantly embracing the right amount of cheese, there is just something so cool about The Karate Kid! But, did you know that in 1989 after the release of The Karate Kid Part 3 that there was a short lived Karate Kid cartoon? It was simply titled, The Karate Kid, as it would have us continue on our adventures with Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi as the themes of The Karate Kid turn from these personal growth lessons and karate tournaments to now taking us on world exploring adventures that involve... magic? It's weird, but it was the 80's, right? Today, let's take a look at what The Karate Kid Cartoon was all about.
