Wharfedale's EVO 5 Series of speakers marks the next step in the evolution of the EVO Series. New refinements and enhancements from the already wonderful EVO 4 line help take the EVO 5 to a new level of sonic excellence.

*What's new:*
The main improvements are a bigger AMT tweeter, better vibration damping, and a higher-volume speaker enclosure. The larger AMT tweeter delivers exquisite treble details, and benefits from the improved damping. Same with the Kevlsr woofers.
That improved damping also helps Wharfedale simplify the signal path between the speakers in the 3-way design to the crossovers. They split the crossover network into individual parts, and put them on separate PCBs, enabling a "straight through" design. Wharfedale says this reduces potential interference in the audio signal path.
*How do they sound?*
You get amazing detail from the AMT tweeter and soft-dome upper midrange speaker, delicious mids, and satisfying bass from the Kevlar woofer or woofers, resulting in a very detailed soundstage with noticeable depth to it. It's a stretch to call it 3D sound, but it starts to feel that way.
