“The biggest problem with restoring an old house like this is taking the gut punch and moving forward with the repairs.” Welcome to Episode #3 of the Graveyard House restoration where surprises hit me at every turn. The original structure is from 1793 and if you’ve been following along you know things are really taking a turn. In this episode I begin excavation: the deep dig that will be the repair of the foundation. As I work my way through I come to realize that the skeleton of the modern extension needs to be completely replaced! No holds barred, I hit it hard and of course more has revealed itself as one repair leads to the next: the renovation has begun.
