We’ve all had baloney in our theology
All been a wannabe
Having a shot at prophecy
Lost all contact with reality
Thought we were right,
But lost sight of Christ crucified

Some stuff we did was borderline insanity
Shadow boxing, lost in demonology
Running on a treadmill
Workaholics never still
Worn out to a thread
Then the gospel cleared our heads.

God is not a doctrine or a denomination
Not law, God is not war.
God is not hate or late or a cheapskate to anyone…….God is Love

God is not christian, or any superstition
Not dead, He’s not a hot head
God is not a genie, a meanie or grumpy to anyone…….God is Love




We poured some wine on the city gateway
Put some oil on our windows and our doorways
Threw some salt in the river for a breakthrough
We were always on the edge
Then we trusted in Jesus instead.

God is not confusion,
He doesn’t do delusion
Not bored, with being The Lord
God is not oppressive, depressive
or messing with anyone.
God is Love.

God is not a liar, a faker, a people hater
Unkind, or leaving folks behind
God is not Bad News or Sad News,
He’s Good News for everyone.
God is Love.

God is not a solitary, deity,
Distant and disapproving,
Forever judging,
But rather The Father,
The Son and the Holy Spirit
Loving, Dancing, Loving, Dancing,
God is love.
