On September 2nd, WestJet took delivery of their seventh Boeing 787 Dreamliner, C-FAJA, and is their first Dreamliner delivery since June of 2020.
However, in light of their announcement that they're refocusing on Western Canada, and "pausing investment into incremental Dreamliners", there's been a lot of talk that this 7th one may be the last 787 that they're taking.
The original order from 2017 was for 10 aircraft with options for 10 more, and for two years now the 787 fleet stayed at 6 aircraft while traffic recovered.
Interestingly, if this one is the last, it's also out of sequence with the other six, since the newest one prior to this is tail 907, while this one is tail 910.
Tails 908 and 909 are built and painted in full WestJet livery, but it seems they were both sent to storage during the pause in 787 deliveries.
I'm still hoping this doesn't a ctually end up being their last 787, but regardless of how things go, it's great to see another new widebody addition to the fleet.

At the end of August, this Royal New Zealand Air Force 757 paid a brief visit to Calgary, stopping for fuel and crew rest en route from New Zealand to the UK.
According to their social media, it was apparently flying to the UK with New Zealand Army personnel to train members of the Ukrainian infantry.
As youd expect, that’s quite the long journey, and the plane stopped in Apia (the capital of Samoa), then in Honolulu, Calgary, and Halifax before making it to RAF Brize Norton.
It’s not every day we see a visitor from the South Pacific, let alone a military 757 in general, so please enjoy!

Last Friday, new Canadian airline Canada Jetlines visited Calgary for the first time ever, operating a familiarization flight with travel agents on board. This A320 is their very first airplane and flew in from Toronto, overnighted, and then left the following day.
Its always great to see new airlines enter the market here in Canada, and Jetlines is a welcome addition to the mix after hearing about them for so many years. Very cool to finally see them in Calgary, and enjoy the video!
