How are we building the West Gate Tunnels?

The two largest tunnel boring machines in the hemisphere Bella and Vida have been digging almost 7 km of tunnels under Yarraville in Melbourne’s west.

In the latest episode of our video series exploring the West Gate Tunnel Project, we speak with tunnelling engineers about the tunnelling process, how we’ve been managing soil dugout from the tunnels and just how drivers will use the tunnels when they open to the public.
