I recently purchased a welding table with 5/8" holes in the top. These clamps are designed to fit in those holes allowing you to clamp down on whatever it is you need to weld in almost any place on the table. My only regret is not getting them sooner. The ones I have were bought at Princess Auto in Canada and can likely be found at Harbor Freight in the USA, but I'm sure most brand will work the same.
