Dealer technicians keep the world moving, and the Caterpillar Global Dealer Technician Challenge brings the best of the best from around the world together for a fun and heated competition. During the Caterpillar Global Dealer Technician Challenge, there are 3 different roadblocks that the technicians will be faced with on the courses:

- Electrical
- Technology
- Hydraulics

The problems that the technicians will face during GDTC mimic real-world applications. The scorecard for these technicians challenges will evaluate the following:

- Safety
- Quality
- Efficiency
- Customer Service
