Iāve been asked a few times, so welcome to our garden šŖ“
Those of you who have followed along for a long time (gosh I love you for that) will know how long itās taken us and how much work weāve done over the years. A few years back I could hardly remember the names of any flower at all. But itās become a bit of a safe, peaceful place for me more recently. Youāll find me out here most evenings; watering, deadheading and weeding!
It isnāt perfect, Iāve made the most of what we have, and I e managed to grow a lot myself this year, along with some donations from my mum.
Some of my favourite parts are:
The wall by the garage with my ābig things often have little beginningsā sign that I bought when I first moved in here over 13 years ago.
Our new water butt, so we can use rainwater to water everything with!
My dahlias, that are my most favourite flower.
My little potting bench and cold frame - Iād love a greenhouse one day, but Iām so chuffed with these all the same. Makes me feel like I know what Iām doing, when actually Iām kind of a ātry it and seeā kind of gal.
The old, broken bird bath that I repurposed as a planter - I actually have quite a few old pots that came with the house.
My archway - the Sweetpeas are slow for me this year because they got stifled by bluebells, but we are getting there!
The stream, even though it floods sometimes - I just pretend itās part of its charm!
The giant football net over the new grass that we did from seed after removing the old patio ourselves and levelling it all out, so the kids would have more space to play.
Itās bloody hard work and takes up a lot of my evenings and weekends, but it means the world to me! Hope you enjoyed the tour!
